I first saw the New York City resident, Shorty Jah, in a video going insane on stage while opening for Lil Tjay. His energy was electric, he even did a successful stage dive as an opener. I think that might be the only time an opener rocked a show that hard. It all made sense when I started listening to Code Red. The first track was unique and began almost punk rock like. The track then drops into the heavy hitting trap, more in line with the rest of the album. The last track was a smooth banger to show he has multiple sides. His style is so hyped but so cold too, it makes me want to drop kick someone. I hear some of his bars and just smirk. The ones you can really feel it in are “Kick That Door” and “Feet First” (if Shorty’s song title involves a foot, shits gonna slap). Shorty Jah also has only been at this for about 2 years so you can only imagine how the next 2 will go. March 5th he’ll be kicking the door in at our show, so be there to mosh to his songs with us.
