Blake Parker is probably the most slept on talent in the entire underground scene. Blakes ideas, styles, and production is so ahead of their means and resources it’s not even funny. Blake does all their own production, preforming and mixing except for a few songs. I don’t think creativity and talent are limited no matter what your budget is but unfortunately it limits the scale of it all. I just have this feeling that no matter the budget given to Blake they would create something worth that amount. I feel like Blake Parker is a very original artist that pulls from all kinds of genres creating new sounding tracks. Parker doesn’t try to create what’s popular or even a distinct sound, but still ends up having one. Blake probably sings more than raps, and it makes the songs so much catchier to the point “Brave New World” and “Feezys” have been stuck in my head for weeks. I do hesitate to even give Blake Parker a genre or any label for that matter, but I feel that’s directly in line with the brand this artist is creating. The Plug mask, making music solo, vulnerability in the music (while still masking their physical appearance), views on individualism and off the beaten path distribution (Blake distributes exclusive songs to their very own site). I feel like Blake is the Anti-industry artist but will prove to be exactly what takes it over one day. I have complete faith in this music and creativity. I know Blake creates all his music top to bottom for the most part. I have more faith in this artist than I had in many I’ve predicted before.
