MazeOnTheBeat Releases EP Is There Any Love In This Wooorld?

MazeOnTheBeat released Is There Any Love In This World? on his birthday April 15th this past Saturday. We met this young artist located in the Lehigh Valley at the Hip Hop Media Mixer last year. We were able to interview him and his passion for music radiated off him. There’s a line in “Already Knew” about how you can’t fake passion for music, and you can feel he believes that. We don’t have many artists in our area that convince me they have a passion for music outside trying to make a quick bag. MazeOnTheBeat’s true character shines through in his lyrics but the evidence of his passion is in the sonic quality of his music. The EP’s mixes were consistent and listenable which is a very important and often overlooked detail. He also took great care in his curation of the project. You could tell he was attempting to show multiple sides of his artistry by including bar heavy, storytelling and party songs creating a well-rounded project. I enjoyed his bar heavy style the best followed by his storytelling ability. His party song “Big Daddy” felt a little less genuine, but the potential to make that kind of song is there. I didn’t hate it, I just didn’t feel the same conviction in his performance (I know party music isn’t about conviction, but I mean the ability to make me feel he means what he says). His real strength lies in his bar heavy songs which you’ll hear mostly on “Lockness Monstarz” and “Already Knew”. His storytelling was well demonstrated on his track “Smoke and Glass” giving you a nice snapshot of his current abilities as an artist. I can see MazeOnTheBeat evolving far beyond his current stage just based on the dedication he has to his music. I suggest you give Is There Any Love In This World? a listen yourself and let us know what you think. The project is down below.
