I’ve been following Kenny Mason since “Hit” and he has yet to disappoint. Angelic Hoodrat was a masterpiece only outperformed by the supercut. I have the debate of which one I like better but it’s a fruitless argument. I have abused both of those albums. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was my most played artist in 2021. I think he is 100% on his way to becoming someone Hip Hop remembers as a legend. I know that’s a huge statement this early in his career, but his production skills alone are something to admire. The beats (most of which he created) he raps over are special in the way that they don’t sound anything like what mainstream Hip Hop is doing but not so crazy that it’s hard to introduce his music to new people. He can go toe to toe with bar spitters like Jid and Idk on “Cereal” not to mention the songs he has with Denzel Curry and Freddie Gibbs. He can be melodic and lyrical, combined with his very own sonic style influenced by multiple genres you get one of the next leaders in Hip Hop. Check out his music and videos.
