Malik

I first heard Mailk from his song Dirty Dan being that it was a track with one of my favorite Producer collectives Neilaworld. His voice was very clean and the song was catchy as hell which I found to be something most of his songs have in common. Malik is form Wichita Kansas and I haven’t personally heard of any rapper’s form there, but I think he has a chance to put it on the map for Hip Hop. His ability to make a hook that sticks is perfect. While compiling his starter pack I probably sung all 14 songs hooks a million times. His ear for beats is fantastic which is important as an artist. I feel like every song he has the beat is one that not only he sounds good on but are just as catchy as his hooks. I don’t know if his goal is to be catchy or to make Hip Hop that is consumable on the radio, but I think he does a great job at it. I heard in his episode with Patrick Cc that he engineers his own music. That is mind blowing considering his vocals are some of the cleanest in all the underground. I think Lil Gunnr should hit him up for a preset to throw on his site. His subject matter mainly has to do with women and his experience with them. His project “All Girls Are The Devil” says it all and while he is relatable and very consumable he doesn’t feel underground. He feels almost too clean and that’s not bad exactly, but it makes it harder for him to stand out. His music is amazing technically better than most of the underground, but it does lack strong Identity. I know he is still relatively new, and he has the hardest parts of the music down which some never get. I’m confident that the more he makes music and evolves the identity will become more apparent and he will develop a sound all his own. Keep an eye and ear out for this talented young man because he is going places. Check out our starter pack on SC and Spotify then check out the rest of his work.
